I’m getting a lot of comments on this blog for Quilts 4 Leukaemia and I thought I would list the requirements here too.
-
Block size must be 8.5 inches unfinished. Bigger is ok, smaller isn’t
;
-
the red fabric must be pre-washed. I’ve had a problem with dye running and, believe me, it is not a pretty sight;
-
block style can be anything – free-pieced, traditional, foundation, paper pieced, wonky, crazy;
-
when done, email me for my address.
I think that’s everything.
Any questions?
Don’t forget to check out the web site from time to time.

Ok, so I went to my stash to start a block for you. All my white fabrics have little black patterns on them, and the reds have bits of blue and yellow. Is that ok, or should it be just red and white, and maybe pink? (I have this great white fabric with bars of music on it…)

Hello,
I’m part of an italian group of internet quilters called PatchworkCaffè, I launched the idea of making blocks for Quilts4Leukaemia as a sort of Christmas project. We’d like to know what does “unfinished” means, exactly: the 8.5 inch measure includes seam allowances, I suppose… Is it right?
I translate into metric and say to my fellows that the blocks must be cm 21,50. Do you prefer something bigger (cm 21,75 or cm 22)?
Thank you very much… Bye
